Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI) is located in the heart of Berlin and focuses on helping graduates to become exceptional leaders in their chosen field. Every course we offer is designed with these principles in mind, which is why each programme focuses on improving your practical business skills and understanding of the industry. We will give you the tools and information that you need for professional success, as well as support from industry focused academics who are at the top of their field. You will also benefit from our extensive career support, which you can rely on for guidance and advice. All of our courses use hands-on teaching methods, such as case studies, visits to exhibitions and businesses, guest speakers, and classroom discussions. This means you will gain a practical understanding of how the concepts you are learning apply to real businesses. You will also have the option to learn German for three hours per week. This will further enhance your understanding of the German workplace and allow you to integrate with German society. Our goal is your success: when you graduate, you will soon be able to enter the job market as a highly qualified professional.

In order to achieve better effectiveness and support our students, we have improved our learning resources by increasing our subscription levels (including access to academic journals) and by adding many more physical books in our libraries. In addition, we have refined our overall lesson aids and VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) presence, whilst we have reinforced our student support services team with additional members so that they could deal with more students more comfortably if needed. Moreover, we have introduced in the faculty an additional team of tutors (beyond formal teaching) in order to provide additional support to students that we think are in need of further support. Additionally, the centre offers specialist one-to-one session(s) to those learners who have a formal referral from a member of staff to address their specific needs.

At Berlin School of Business and Innovation, we focus on helping you become an exceptional leader in your profession. This means that every course we offer is designed with enterprise, leadership, and your success in mind. We believe that the best way to help you get a job is by developing your practical business skills and understanding of the industry. Our one-to-one support sessions are tailored to meet learners’ needs and can include support in relevant/specific subject areas. Academic Support Staff offers help on time-slot basis and attendance is mandatory.

BSBI students benefit from studying in a vibrant and diverse learning environment. Our campus is surrounded by green spaces, shops, diverse restaurants and local cafes providing excellent local amenities for students. The campus itself consists of bright and friendly rooms, a modern student lounge and wireless internet access.

At BSBI, we are happy to assist students with finding accommodation in Berlin and we can help with a variety of housing options, depending on your preference and budget. BSBI does not guarantee the provision of housing nor does it provide on-campus accommodations, however we can still do a lot to help you find the right place to live during your studies in Berlin.

Studying Abroad in Germany - No German? No Problem

Let’s face it -- not everyone goes to study abroad to perfect their language skills. Going for the cultural experience and life in a new place is just as much a factor. Using a study abroad program allows you to tailor a program to fit what you want and make sure that learning in English is a priority.

Finding a program that offers the majority of its courses in English is a great first step. Check out these study abroad opportunities in Germany to find one that meets your language-learning needs. If you’re uncertain, you can ask a question right on the study abroad program page and alumni from that program will answer you.

You can also visit your school’s study abroad office to find out about partner universities in Germany. Often times, North American schools will partner with foreign institutions that specifically offer programming in their native language. It’s not a bad idea either to ask your school if they offer German language courses. Even a semester’s worth of language classes or short summer intensive will go a long way to prepare you for life in Germany. Chances are you might be able to use some of the credits to pad out your degree as well!

Furthermore, many German universities provide different options for varying levels of German-language abilities, including English instruction for absolute beginners.

You can even choose whether to take courses alongside local German students or other international students. With a little extra research, you'll be able to find the perfect program that pairs survival German classes and other subject courses taught with English instruction.

Remember that there is no best option when it comes to choosing a study abroad experience; just choose the best one for you.

For English speakers who aren’t comfortable speaking German except for the occasional “pass the schnitzel” or “Nein!” it’s no problem (or “Kein Problem,” as the Germans would say) for those wanting to study here.

Not only is Germany a hugely cosmopolitan country, with many English services available in its larger cities, but a 2012 survey by the European Commission revealed that 50% of Germans feel comfortable speaking English. In my experience, that number tends to be even higher amongst German youth and students -- the exact people you’ll be interacting with the most during your time studying abroad.

For those students who aren't confident in their German language skills, there are plenty of programs taught in English all over the country. You'll just need to be a little pickier when you're selecting which program in Germany to study abroad with.
